String paintings #2

After experimenting into string painting, I thought I would develop it further and create patterns and possibly screen print them? we will see...

String Paintings

These images are quite self explanatory from the title.. I hope these surprise you as much as it did with me when experimenting...

Prints

These images are created from exposing images onto a silk screen and then printing.. I hope you like them!

Snakes and Ladders

One night of late night thinking I decided to paint a few paintings that just remind me of snakes and ladders, because come on, isn't life kind of like climbing ladders and sometimes going the wrong way, to the snake... ? Well for me it might be!

Seed-heads

I have always been inspired by nature and I can honestly say that the majority of my work will be influenced by this! the next following images are my drawings of dried seed-heads. With the exploration of using inks, leather, stitch, wax, Batik, and other mediums...

Animals..

These following sketches are from my development sketchbook towards my Johnsons Tiles project. I decided to go fro  a geometric style and I really enjoyed drawing like this, it's quite 'graphicy' don't you think? well I think so! I would definitely like to progress further into this style as it different to what I am used to and I feel it would make nice accents to tops, pillows, wall art etc.. I was majorly inspired by Allison Kunath and Iain Macarthur. The Eagle head is my favourite piece, what's yours?

Rocks...

In my 1,10,1000 brief at Uni, I decided to base my theme around Rock Formations, I went around various places around the UK, e.g. Cornwall, to draw rocks, take a look at my Photography for an idea of where I was looking. The following image are from my sketchbook and are quite sketchy which is a different style from what I am used to doing, but I like it! Don't hesitate to leave a comment.
